Hi Jasmina,Thank you for your question. Unfortunately we do not have a universally standardize vocabulary for Belly Dance so I am not exactly sure what is classified as the Egyptian walk. This 3/4 variation does evolve from the folkloric Hagallah step which I also break down here at Raqs Online. There are many variations of 3/4 shimmies from folkloric to modern styling. The down variation is associated more with Egypt and also seen in some North African dance steps. But you will also see the up variation used in Egypt as well as Lebanon as an example. The up is also associated with Ghawazee movements. I wish I had a more straight forward answer for you.Best!
