So happy to had seen this live at the NW villa fest- it was unbelievable.  I was so captivated with the dance and the emotions then , that only now am i noticing how unusual and layered this music is.  Can't wait to try this choreo.

Hi Sadie,I had my eye on this choreo for a while, but it looked a bit too advanced, so I kept putting it off. I finally decided to learn it, and to my surprise—despite the advanced technique—it was probably the easiest choreo I’ve learned from here. Something about it flows so naturally that it makes it easy to remember and connect.

Getting it performance-ready will be a whole other challenge, but I’m excited to try. I also loved how you wove explanations of choreo creation into this one—this was super valuable.

Thank you so much for sharing not just the movement, but the thought process behind it as well.

Hi Sadie,  you've mentioned that you had a live music class in Costa Rica and showed dancers how to transition into the next segment (on 3rd or 4th repetition).  If you are ever able to do this kind of class online, it would be so awesome.  I am dreading live music drum solos, but also curious to try one day.

This was an incredible class! I love all your 'concept' videos - they really help me access dance more intuitively and playfully.

It sounds like you might use framing differently when thinking about drum solo vs. taqsim and I was wondering whether you could elaborate more on this in your future classes?

Also, I'm curious to hear your thoughts about the breath of movement (suspense and release) within a drum solo. It obviously still happens, but energetically feels differently. If you think those questions would be of interest to others, I would totally love another concept class tailored for drum solo.

Thank you!

omg Sadie, I wasn't going to do this tutorial because I could kinda do those rolls already, but then it popped up on my feed and decided to try it out,  and now the rolls look so much better!!!  This is such a neat way of breaking the technique down. Also, this made me realize I wasn't doing them properly need to get on top of core training.  Thank you!

Commented on Transitions

Hi Sadie,  this is one of my favorite tutorials on Raqs Online.  Watched it last year and and keep coming back to it.  I was wondering if you could consider creating addition classes on this challenging topic of transitions: transitions between moves (which you already cover a lot in your classes), transition between combos, transitions between musical sections, transition from melody to rhythm etc...  either way, thank you so much for this amazing content!

Sadie Marquardt thank you! I Will look there and let you know.

This was fun, thanks Sadie!  Is there a breakdown on the 3/4 pelvic somewhere here?  I am only able to do the pelvic shimmy and couldn't figure out the mechanics of the 3/4.
