Hello Angelique M.,Thank you for your question. This layer is complex and does take some time to get. When you take the step onto the right foot you will feel that the right knee is bent but what you will also feel is the back left leg straighten more. What that does is to help tilt the pelvis forward and down on the right side. I think she has a pair of 8lb and 12lb. But you could use whatever works for you to start and build up. Like 2lb & 5lb
