Hi Anna, That makes sense. In a hip shimmy your lower body is really grounded down which is hard to maintain when you lift the upper body. So your legs try to lengthen a bit when you lift the upper body bringing you into leg shimmy. It's fine to do it that way. But if you wish you layer the hip shimmy then practice staying grounded with a slight bend in the knees and pelvis tucked.
