There are a few theories on why we get a stitch. Fatigue in the abdominal area is a factor. You can't always help it except to stop or lower the size and intensity of the movement.

In his book, Atomic Habits, James Clear dives into the psychology of habit formation.

In his article titled Identity-Based Habits: How to Actually Stick to Your Goals This Year, Clear says: "The key to building lasting habits is focusing on creating a new identity first. Your current behaviors are simply a reflection of your current identity.

To change your behavior for good, you need to start believing new things about yourself. You need to build identity-based habits."

If you want to be a runner, become the type of person who prioritizes running several days per week and prove it to yourself with consistent action. If you enjoy and love Bellydancing, don't be shy to call yourself a "Bellydancer"!
